Missle Contracts Coming!

The next few years are very important for our area and businesses here need to be ready. 

The majority of the problem I see in this area is communication.  Just being able to find out what is going on.  Many of us didn't know about the government missile contract.  We go about our day-to-day lives without information.

Did you know in 2023 the Federal Government is investing over 94 million dollars into our area?  This can be through medicare, HUD, construction, and all types of grants and loans.  It is a lot of money.  Last night I looked back through the history and found some interesting things.  Many of the contracts awarded go to out-of-area contractors because of the lack of SBA ( Small Business Administration) registered businesses in this area.   We are by no means experts in working with the SBA.  For us, it has been a lot of trial and error.  I am sure there are others in this community that know more and can help our businesses.  We need to find those people and resources and get that information out so our area can win more contracts.  

As an example, one Colorado-based company won a 300K government service contract for 2023, that could have been awarded here.  That company has made over 50 million dollars from the government since 2008.

Another interesting note to this is the SBA is required by law to award contracts to locals wherever possible.  All "set aside contracts" under $150k have to go to local if possible.  

Now, over the course of the next few years, MILLIONS of dollars will be awarded during the upcoming missile contract.  Many job opportunities.  We must get ready for that.  Look through the SBA websites.  There is lots of information.  Register your business with them and make sure you get certified.  Easy to do.  https://www.sba.gov/.../contracting.../basic-requirements...

The US Government uses a variety of search engines to find local contractors and award contracts.  If you are not on those systems you will never hear about them.

There will be huge opportunities for our local businesses in the next few years.  As a community, we need to prepare and help each other become more successful.
